Kate’s Path is an evolving creative practice rooted in landscape and material.

Working across resin, print, and found surfaces, each piece explores preservation, erosion, and the stories held in place.

After everything it took to get there, arriving at Hastings Contemporary Odyssey opening felt strangely fitting.

The work is called Cursed… so maybe I did tempt fate a little!

It is an honour to show my piece amongst some fantastic artwork from local creatives.

The Open: Odyssey celebrates the creative force of Sussex, bringing together artwork by over 150 artists from across the region. Each work offers a unique and personal reflection on the theme of odyssey, journeying through time, place, imagination and experience.

Get down there and have a look. Maybe even buy something - all art works are for sale. As Jo Myles of sussex contemporary said - 'Buy from living artists, the dead ones don't need the money!'

Dive into the depths of history with my latest creation! This antique admiralty map of Beachy Head and Dungeness serves as the canvas for a tale long forgotten. The image starts with hand drawn ink then layered resin, bringing to life the haunting legend of the cursed ship of Amsterdam wrecked of the coast of Hastings. I was inspired by a recent visit to the #shipwreckmuseumhastings 🌊🚢
