Botanical Clay Impressions

In this tactile, nature-inspired workshop, you’ll create decorative clay pieces using real plants to make detailed botanical impressions. We’ll begin by exploring leaves, grasses, seed heads, and other natural materials (with optional foraging if the venue and weather allow), before pressing them into soft air-drying clay to capture their unique textures and forms.

This process encourages close observation and slow making. Participants will experiment with composition, depth, and pressure to create a series of clay impressions that reflect both the plant material and their own creative choices. Each piece becomes a one-of-a-kind record of the natural forms used on the day.

The session is designed to be accessible for beginners and focuses on enjoyment, process, and discovery rather than technical perfection. Finished pieces can be used as small wall tiles, hanging decorations, or framed keepsakes once fully dry.
