Cursed - Resin & Ink on wooden panel

This work is inspired by the story of the Amsterdam, the Dutch East Indiaman that ran aground near Hastings in 1749, and by a visit to the Hastings Shipwreck Museum. Rather than depicting the event literally, the piece reflects on how myth, memory, and material evidence intertwine along this coastline. The partially submerged vessel and layers of resin evoke histories held in suspension—preserved, fragmented, and shaped by both fact and legend.
