About Us

Kate’s Path and KP Studios are run by Kate and Peter, a maker partnership based in Sussex. Kate leads the artistic direction and creates original artwork, alongside developing and running workshops. Alongside her creative practices, Kate has a professional background in learning and development, designing and leading programmes that focus on how people learn, engage, and build confidence. This experience shapes the way workshops are designed at KP Studios, with a strong emphasis on clear guidance, supportive environments, and learning through doing.
Peter is a musician, woodturner and maker, specialising in tactile, small-batch pieces and working across both traditional making and laser-cut processes.
Together, they design and make nature-inspired work, handmade objects, and thoughtfully structured workshops that combine creative exploration with practical skills, rooted in place, materials, and the joy of making by hand.
Branches of the tree
Kate’s Path
This branch is Kate’s personal art practice. It includes original artworks and one-of-a-kind pieces that explore story, landscape, memory, and material. This is where her individual voice and experimentation sit, and where her artwork can be viewed and purchased.
KP Studios
This branch is their shared studio practice. Based in Sussex, they collaborate on making handmade objects in small batches, using a mix of traditional and digital processes including woodturning and laser cutting. Their work is strongly influenced by the natural environment, with a focus on tactile materials, practical making, and thoughtful craft.
Together, they create work that is rooted in nature, shaped by place, and made to be used, handled, and lived with.
Like a tree, our work grows in different directions, shaped by the same landscape and values.
