Returns & Refunds

Returns & Refunds

We hope you love your Kate’s Path purchase. As many of our products and artworks are handmade, small variations in colour, grain, texture and finish may occur and are part of the individual character of the piece. This returns policy applies to purchases made through our website.

Changing your mind

If you purchase an eligible item online, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason.

Please contact us within 14 days of delivery to let us know that you wish to return your order. Once you have notified us, you have a further 14 days to return the item.

To arrange a return, please contact: Email: kate@katespath.co.uk

Please include your name, order number and details of the item you wish to return. We will provide you with the appropriate return address and any relevant packing instructions. Please do not return an item without contacting us first.

Condition of returned items

Returned items should be securely packaged and returned in their original condition wherever reasonably possible. You may inspect an item as you would if viewing it in a shop. However, if an item has been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and condition, we may make an appropriate deduction from the refund to reflect any reduction in value. This is particularly important for original artwork and delicate handmade pieces.

Return postage

For change-of-mind returns, you are responsible for the cost of returning the item to us. We strongly recommend using an appropriately insured and trackable delivery service, particularly when returning original artwork, resin work or other high-value or fragile pieces. You remain responsible for taking reasonable care of the item while it is being returned. If an item is faulty, damaged on arrival or not as described, please contact us before returning it. Where a return is required because of a fault or error on our part, we will arrange or reimburse reasonable return costs.

Refunds

Once we receive your return, we will inspect it and process your refund. For eligible cancellations, refunds will be made within 14 days of receiving the returned item, or receiving evidence that you have sent it back, if earlier, in accordance with your statutory rights. Your refund will be made using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed. Where applicable, we will also refund the cost of our standard delivery option. If you selected a more expensive or upgraded delivery service, the additional delivery cost is not refundable. We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or you have provided evidence that they have been returned.

Custom, commissioned and personalised work

The statutory right to cancel does not normally apply to goods that are made to your individual specifications or clearly personalised. This may include commissioned artwork created specifically for you, artwork incorporating a location, wording, date or other details chosen by you, personalised or customised products, and pieces made to dimensions, colours or specifications specifically requested by you. Please check all information carefully before approving or ordering personalised work. This exception does not affect your rights if an item is faulty, damaged or not as described. A product being handmade or produced after you place your order does not necessarily make it a customised item. Where you order one of our standard products without individual customisation, our normal returns policy applies.

Original artwork

Original artworks purchased through our website can normally be returned under the same 14-day cancellation arrangements described above, unless the artwork has been commissioned or personalised specifically for you. Because original artworks may be large, delicate or difficult to transport, please contact us before arranging a return so that we can advise on appropriate packaging and delivery. The cost of returning an unwanted original artwork is the buyer’s responsibility unless the artwork is faulty, damaged or not as described.

Damaged items

We take care to package artwork and products securely, but if your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.

Please provide your order number, photographs of the damaged item, photographs of the packaging including any visible damage, and a brief description of the problem. Please retain the item and all packaging until we have responded, as these may be required for a courier or insurance claim. We will work with you to provide an appropriate remedy, which may include a replacement, repair or refund depending on the circumstances. Nothing in this section limits your statutory consumer rights.

Faulty or incorrectly described goods

All products must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

If you believe your purchase is faulty or significantly different from its description, please contact us. Your statutory rights under UK consumer law are not affected by this returns policy.

Exchanges

We do not routinely offer direct exchanges. If you would prefer another product, please contact us. Where appropriate, we may ask you to return the original item for a refund and place a new order. Personalised or commissioned products cannot normally be exchanged unless they are faulty or not as described.

In-person purchases

Different rules apply to products purchased in person at exhibitions, markets, fairs or other events. There is not normally an automatic right to return an item purchased in person simply because you have changed your mind. This does not affect your statutory rights where an item is faulty, not as described or otherwise does not meet the requirements of UK consumer law.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in this Returns & Refunds Policy is intended to exclude or restrict any rights you have under UK consumer law.
